SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that SpaceXAI, the company’s artificial intelligence arm, will be renamed SpaceXSI, with SI standing for Super Intelligence.

The decision follows a September 29 executive order issued by US President Donald Trump titled Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence. The order directs departments and agencies across the US executive branch to use the terms Super Intelligence and SI in official correspondence, public communications, policy documents and other non statutory documents.

The order also asks the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to propose federal definitions for Super Intelligence and SI based on the current state of the technology. It further calls for identifying any additional executive actions needed to implement the proposed definitions.

The US administration has said the order is intended to support US leadership in Super Intelligence and ensure that Americans benefit from its potential economic gains.
