UAE authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation and premature conclusions as the investigation into the Flydubai flight incident continues. At the same time, Captain Smit has received further praise in the UAE for his courage and quick response during the incident.

The General Civil Aviation Authority said the investigation is being conducted according to approved procedures, with confidentiality and integrity maintained and in coordination with relevant regional and international authorities. The authority said it would not comment on details or claims currently circulating that could influence the investigation or preempt its findings.

The authority also appealed to the public not to share speculation or unverified information. It praised Captain Smit, the crew and passengers for their courage and prompt response during the incident.

Flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said all passengers and crew members were safe and receiving care. He expressed gratitude to the captain, the pilots who brought the aircraft under control and landed it safely, as well as the cabin crew and passengers who assisted during the difficult situation.

Flydubai has temporarily suspended its operations to Tel Aviv following a request from the authorities while the investigation remains underway. Al Ghaith said there are several questions surrounding what occurred aboard flight FZ1073 and stressed that the official investigation would establish the facts. He added that the airline is fully cooperating with the investigation and that the process should be allowed to continue.

Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE President, also praised Captain Smit for his actions. In a social media post, he said the Indian pilot showed courage and responsibility while dealing with what he described as a dangerous terrorist act and a potential disaster.

Gargash also urged caution against simplifying the incident or promoting conspiracy theories, while stressing the importance of remaining vigilant about the risks linked to extremism and terrorism.
