The Maha Kumbabishekam ceremony at the renowned Meenakshi Temple in Madurai was conducted today after a gap of seventeen years, with devotees participating in the religious celebrations. The rituals began with priests performing special pujas at all 12 gopurams and pouring holy water as part of the ceremony.
State Minister C.T. Nirmal Kumar also took part in the event. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the ceremony at the historic temple.
Food arrangements have been made for around 50,000 devotees attending the Maha Kumbabishekam celebrations. Security measures were also strengthened in and around the Meenakshi Temple for the event.
