Team Europe regained the Solheim Cup after defeating the United States 15 to 13 in a dramatic final day at Bernardus Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands.

The competition was evenly balanced after the opening two days, with both teams level at 8 to 8 heading into the final 12 singles matches. Europe then produced a strong performance when the pressure was at its highest and moved ahead of the American team.

Europe won seven of the 12 singles matches on Sunday, giving the team the points needed to cross the winning mark. Lottie Woad played a major role in securing the victory after defeating Auston Kim 2 and 1. Her result pushed Europe beyond the required 14 and a half points.

Carlota Ciganda also delivered a crucial performance for Europe. She defeated Jennifer Kupcho 4 and 2, helping the European side finish the contest with a 15 to 13 scoreline.

The result gave Europe its eighth overall Solheim Cup victory and also avenged its defeat against the United States in the 2024 edition. The European team showed strong unity during the final day and turned the competition in its favour after the two sides had remained level following the first two days.

The United States also produced some notable individual performances during the final round. Alison Lee made a strong comeback against Esther Henseleit, recovering from a four shot deficit before winning her match by one hole.

Europe's victory completed an impressive turnaround on the final day and returned the Solheim Cup to the European side after a closely contested competition.
