The United States defeated France 97 to 79 in the final to win its fifth consecutive Women’s Basketball World Cup title.

The American team had to overcome a difficult start after France built a 14 point advantage during the second quarter. France began the contest strongly and went on a 21 to 2 scoring run, putting the United States under significant pressure early in the game.

The defending champions responded before halftime and managed to reduce France's advantage to just two points. Caitlin Clark contributed an important three pointer during the comeback as the United States gradually regained control of the contest.

The game changed significantly in the third quarter as the American team increased its intensity. Kahleah Copper and Jackie Young hit consecutive three pointers, helping the United States move ahead. The team continued to extend its advantage and entered the fourth quarter with a 19 point lead.

Breanna Stewart led the United States with 22 points and played a key role in the team's comeback. Jackie Young added 18 points, while Kahleah Copper finished with 15. Caitlin Clark scored 12 points in the final.

France fought hard throughout the contest, with Dominique Malonga leading the team with 21 points and Gabby Williams adding 20 points. However, the French side was unable to recover after the United States took control in the second half.

The victory gave the United States its 12th overall Women’s Basketball World Cup title and extended its remarkable run in the competition. The American team has now won the tournament five times in succession.

Spain finished the tournament with the bronze medal after defeating host nation Germany 81 to 58 in the third place match.
