During its meeting, the CTTIK adopted a resolution proposed by its president, Raj Kumar Padha, unequivocally condemning the Pahalgam attack while commending the Indian military for their “valour and courage” during the recent operations. The resolution also conveyed “heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in Pahalgam and indiscriminate shelling by Pakistan”.

“The tourism industry remains the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir's economy, contributing significantly to employment, trade, and overall economic activity. However, the industry is also the most vulnerable to disruptions, being the first to suffer and the last to recover in the event of any disturbance,” the resolution stated.

The chamber voiced alarm over the timing of the conflict, which coincided with the crucial months of April and May — traditionally regarded as the peak tourist season in the region. According to the CTTIK, this disruption has “completely wiped out” the season, dealing a severe blow to hoteliers, guest house owners, transport operators, retailers, wholesalers, and numerous auxiliary sectors.
