Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district Collector R. Mahesh Kumar has stated that the 93-km-long coastline and the riverfronts of the Godavari and its branches would be thrown open for investment in the hospitality and tourism sectors to give a fillip to 17 beaches and 20 renowned temples.
Mr. Mahesh Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation authorities on Friday held talks with the investors from the Godavari region and Hyderabad on the potential investment opportunities in the district.
The representatives of Agami Foods of Kakinada and Hyderabad-based AIRRB group have launched their field study on the possibilities for investment in the hospitality sector in the district.
In an interaction with the investors, the Collector said, “The coastal tourist destinations including S. Yanam, Pasarlapudi backwaters, and Adurru Buddhist sites will be prime locations where the investors will be encouraged to propose hotels and resorts.”
In S. Yanam, the officials proposed a three-acre site for hotels and resorts and water sports.
“The coastline and riverfronts of the branches of River Godavari are well connected to the renowned temples such as the Bheemeswara Swamy temple at Draksharamam, the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi, and the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Vadapalli. The APTDC resorts will soon be reopened at Kotipalli on the banks of the Godavari,” said Mr. Mahesh Kumar.
